Bible Journey — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 22, 2026
1. Who we are
Bible Journey is a chronological Bible reading app developed by Codeshore. This document explains what data we collect, why, and how you can control it.
2. What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, and password (stored encrypted, never in plain text).
- Preferences: preferred language, reading level, and reminder settings.
- Reading progress: completed chapters/events, reading streak, and per-block progress.
- Questions to the study assistant ("Ezra"): if you use this feature, the text of your question is sent to a third-party AI provider (Groq or Anthropic) to generate an answer, along with relevant biblical/historical context. Your profile data or reading progress is not sent — only the text you type.
- Technical data: IP address and device user-agent, logged for session security purposes.
- Subscription data: status, product, purchase and expiration dates, and a customer identifier. Apple or Google processes payment; Bible Journey does not receive or store your complete card details.
3. What we do NOT do
- We do not show ads or use ad networks.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Meta Pixel, etc.).
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
4. Who we share data with
- AI providers (Groq / Anthropic): receive only the text of questions you ask the Ezra assistant, to generate a response.
- Transactional email providers (Postmark / Resend): to send account-related emails (verification, password reset).
- Hosting infrastructure (AWS, Site5): database and file storage for the app.
- Payments and subscriptions (Apple, Google, and RevenueCat): to process purchases, restore access, and keep Premium status current.
None of these providers use your data for their own advertising purposes.
5. How long we keep your data
We retain your information while your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, unless the law requires us to retain it longer.
6. How to delete your account
You can delete your account in the app under Home → Profile → Delete account. You can also start a request at biblejourney-api.codeshore.net/eliminar-cuenta. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription; you must cancel it through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
7. Children
Bible Journey is not specifically directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
